Soudal begins its 50th anniversary year with excellent figures

Turnover growth of €65m to €630m with more than 2,400 employees worldwide.

Soudal had an excellent year in 2015 with new records in turnover and net result. Soudal continues its strong growth strategy with an increase in turnover of 12%, of which the net result increased to €23m. Soudal has 54 subsidiaries and 15 production units worldwide.

Organic growth

In 2015, Soudal’s gross turnover has increased with no less than €65m to €630m, a new record. Over the last 5 years, Soudal has achieved an incredible growth of €300m. These figures are thanks to the maintained growth strategy in place, with a huge emphasis on organic growth. Disappointing results in China and the Russian regions as if the unpredictability of the exchange rates were compensated by excellent results in Europe, America and the Middle East. The worldwide presence in both the professional and the retail sector have helped the natural and balanced growth of the company.

International expansion

Growth and expansion have always been major factors in the history of Soudal. In June, the Latvian company Tenachem was added to the Soudal network, which meant an expansion of the product portfolio in the production of the double glazing. This allows Soudal to be even more competitive in this sector offering a complete product range. In September of 2015, it was announced that Soudal was opening three new subsidiaries in Thailand, Vietnam and Morocco, which helped Soudal to strengthen its worldwide presence in both East Asia and Africa, and to supply the surrounding countries. 2016 has also started off well for Soudal with the acquisition of its Swedish distributor, Proflex, which has been renamed to Soudal Proflex AB.

Festive year 2016

Soudal celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016: Vic Swerts founded the company on the 19th of September 1966 as a one-man company. The first year’s annual turnover was equal to the current turnover that Soudal has in 15 minutes! The objective is to reach a turnover of €700m in 2016 as part of the plan to reach €1 billion by 2020.

Vic Swerts, founder and president of SOUDAL said: “In spite of some disappointments in 2015, we close the year with excellent growth figures. This reassures me for the future. Soudal can celebrate its 50th anniversary in style, something which all of us can be proud of! I am certain that we will be able to achieve our objectives in the following years if we persevere and keep up the hard work.
