Acquisition of Tramico
Soudal invests in precompressed tapes and acquires French market leader Tramico
Soudal has acquired the French company Tramico, market leader in precompressed foam tapes for the construction sector, with headquarters and production facility in Gournay-en-Bray. The business will continue to expand its production and market leading sales activities in precompressed tapes and noise insulation in France.
With over 60 years of experience, Tramico has developed a leading position in the market for waterproof joint sealing and noise insulation. In France, their Compriband® brand has become synonym for waterproofing with precompressed tapes. The product further completes Soudal’s product portfolio in the sector of joint sealings and window construction.
Soudal has been very active in the French market for decades with local headquarters in Lyon. It has developed a strong position in the construction and retail markets with a wide range of PU foams, sealants and adhesives. As such, combining the know-how of the respective product groups of Soudal and Tramico will generate synergies to serve a wide customer base in construction even better than today.
Dirk Coorevits, CEO of the Soudal Group: “The market potential of both leading companies will allow us to grow locally, enhance our position in the building industry and generate additional potential to widen and deepen our product mix internationally. We are proud of yet another foreign acquisition, again emphasizing our global growth ambitions.”
The employment at Tramico remains unchanged and the current management will stay at the helm. The Tramico production facility in Gournay-en-Bray will be the 25th production plant of Soudal worldwide.
